R.A.T. Blog Nightly Options
Below are the options for your nightly R.A.T. Blog. You must select a new option every night during the week (you will choose 5 different options during the week):
1. Based on what you read tonight, predict what will happen next in your book. Include details from the story to support your prediction. This means that your 5 sentences will all have to be centered around your predictions and details from what you have read to support your prediction.
2. From you reading tonight, find an example of a simile or metaphor. What is the author trying to illustrate? What did the simile or metaphor mean to you? Why do you think the author chose to use this particular simile or metaphor?
3. Describe a character in your book. Your description should include their physical appearance, personality traits, if they are the protagonist or antagonist, and your overall impression and feelings towards this particular character.
4. Describe the setting of your book. Be sure to include details regarding the time and place. How does the setting of your book influence and impact the characters?
5. Discuss a conflict in your book. Describe the conflict. Discuss whether this is an internal or external conflict and how you know.
6. Find 3 words from tonight’s reading that you have never heard before. Look up each word, write the definition in your own words, and then write each word in a sentence.
7. Write a summary of the events that happened in your nightly reading.
8. Think about a time in your nightly reading when a character used a Habit of Mind. Explain the situation, which HOM was used, and how the character used it.
